Prirodoslovna i grafička škola Rijeka

Croatia

Grant amount:

$772

Students at the Prirodoslovna i grafička škola Rijeka, Croatia, have undertaken an intense effort to use the GLOBE Mosquito Protocol and raise community awareness of mosquito breeding places. Adequate Internet access is an issue for the students and the grant will fund six months of cell phone access to enable taking the pictures as part of the protocol and reporting of the data they collect. This school has done excellent work in putting funds from an earlier YLACES Grant to use and producing an excellent student research project. Participant improvement in scientific ways of thinking will be assessed and reported to YLACES. Students will report how the whole project influenced their thinking about the environment and life.
