St. Peter's School

Mansfield, Ohio

Grant amount:

$664

Equipment is provided to expand GLOBE measurements performed by 5th and 6th grade students at

St. Peter's School, to include air temperature, precipitation, relative humidity, and barometric pressure following GLOBE protocols, and wind measurements. Students have already been taking cloud and surface temperature measurements during class and as part of an afterschool GLOBE Club activity. Acquisition of additional equipment will broaden students’ measurement activities and prompt them to explore a wider range of topics in their research projects. St. Peter’s will hold a science fair where students can report on their research. In addition to science projects as an assessment of science learning, a formal assessment will be conducted at the beginning and end of the school year. Results of all these efforts will be shared with YLACES.
