Our Lady of Mt. Caramel School

Newport News, Virginia

Grant amount:

$974

4th and 5th grade students will use 3 iPads supplied by this grant to take and report data to GLOBE. The iPads will allow the students to do the GLOBEObserver protocols and prepare for GLOBE’s roll-out of a new app approach to all data entry. 5th grade students will take data and begin to  interpret  trends for our area.  The purchase of these iPads will also aid in an afterschool club for students in Grades 3-5, where they can use the data and look at trends throughout the world.  The older students in the club will serve as mentors for the 3rd graders.  One of the projects of the club will be for small groups of students to create PowerPoint presentations to report their findings.
