Going Back Outside from the Great Indoors

Detroit, Michigan

Grant amount:

$635

Water quality is now a covered topic in the Detroit upper elementary and middle schools. The grant will provide instruments that will help the teacher and students be more effective in gathering data on the water around us. Meteorology is also included in the curriculum and is a source of significant student interest. The school serves an inner city population and during the pandemic the teacher will take equipment to students so they can take measurements that will be reported to GLOBE and used in student research projects. These are reusable items which will serve multiple grade levels, This year it will service around 120 students under my instruction.
