Return to Outdoor Life

Rijeka, Croatia

Grant amount:

$1,140

Students at the Prirodoslovna i grafička škola Rijeka, Croatia, will monitor the weather on a daily basis and compare their observations with similar measurements of four schools located in areas where other climates prevail.

Outdoor student activities have always been considered essential for their health and development. With the loss of indoor sports opportunities brought to us by the COVID-19 pandemic, being outdoors becomes even more important. In the report we will recommend for each of these climates at what times of the year more outdoor activities should be planned, such as sports, field classes, or field trips.

Participant improvement in scientific ways of thinking will be assessed and reported to YLACES. Students will report how the whole project influenced their thinking about the environment, life.
