Hawkins STEMM Academy

Grant amount:

$2,499

Toledo, Ohio

The K-8 staff at Hawkins STEMM Academy is being introduced to GLOBE protocols and student citizen science research projects through professional development in the summer of 2023.  Teachers will be collecting data in our new Project Prairie location through the Toledo Zoo.

Throughout the school year, students in grades K-8 will be using our prairie as a catalyst to learn inquiry skills, complete a student research project, and participate in a student research symposium. In addition, the school will host a Prairie Learning Showcase in conjunction with the solar eclipse, where families will view student research projects and collect GLOBE data during the eclipse.
