Pacific Grove Museum 2023 - First Annual Student Research Symposia

The PG Museum will host their first annual Student Reasearch Symposium on April 22, 2023. The SRS will be open to students in grades 6-12 in and around Monterey County. Students who have participated in LiMPETS or Watershed Guardians community science programs through the Museum will have the option of mentorship by Museum Educators to develop their research posters.


Watershed Guardians and LiMPETS have worked with over 3,500 students during the 2021-2022 school year. The Museum focuses its work on Monterey County where 73% of students have free/reduced price lunch and more than 35% are English Language Learners.

ABOUT YLACES

Youth Learning as Citizen Environmental Scientists assists and rewards the implementation of inquiry-based, experiential science education where students do science and contribute to the understanding of our environment through recognition and financial reward programs.

Grants range from equipment and supplies for taking environmental measurements to recognition and support for students presenting their research projects and working for pervasive inclusion of student research projects in science teaching.
