High Tech High International
Grant amount:
$1,500
San Diego, California
Grant money will be used to purchase resources needed for student research. This may include trail cameras for wildcam research, or other instruments for students conducting outdoor research. In the past, students who have chosen to do outdoor research have needed hand-held air quality meters, soil and water meters, weather instruments, and instruments for collecting visible light and light intensity. Because the research project is driven by the questions students ask, the instrument needs can vary year. Final products will include: a formal scientific research poster, a final written report, and a google slide presentation that outlines students’ research. Community-wide exhibitions and presentations of student work may take place at the Institute for Conservation Research at the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, at the San Diego County Fair, or other community spaces.
