$1,500

Machakos, Kenya

Naturehub Collective Community Organisation seeks a $1,500 YLACES grant to support youth environmental research and education initiatives in Machakos, Kenya, endorsed by the GLOBE Program. This grant will enable approximately 100 students, aged 12-18 (grades 7-12), to engage in hands-on environmental research, utilizing scientific measurement equipment to study local  ecosystems and wildlife conservation. Students will participate in workshops, fieldwork, and data sharing activities, fostering their understanding of environmental stewardship and empowering them to contribute positively to their community’s sustainability efforts. Through this project, we aim to cultivate a new generation of environmental leaders equipped with the skills and passion to advocate for and protect our natural resources.
