School District of Beloit

Grant amount:

$5,000

Beloit, Wisconsin

A one-day Local Student Research Symposium (SRS) modeled after the GLOBE Regional SRS model will be hosted. This event will involve approximately 20 high school students (grades 9-12) from the School District of Beloit. We anticipate the involvement of approximately 100 community members, including educators, parents, local environmental professionals, local college professors, and other community stakeholders. The symposium will foster an environment where students can present their research projects, receive feedback, and engage with community members around their research. The funding would be used to support student project development and supplies for their research, the development and printing of posters, setting up of community space for the event, and event related expenses (food, awards).
