Mendon, MA and Upton, MA

Grant amount:

$4,465

The Mendon-Upton Regional School District will host a Student Research Symposium in April 2025, showcasing climate science research from our district's participation in the Massachusetts K-12 Climate Change Challenge. This event will engage 550 students from grades K-12 in presenting their research through poster presentations and peer review sessions, with 300+ expected attendees including community members, STEM professionals, and families. The symposium directly advances our Portrait of a Learner competencies, developing students as Global Citizens who understand climate impacts, Solution Seekers who use evidence-based reasoning, Skillful Collaborators who engage in peer review, Effective Communicators who present scientific findings, Inspired Innovators who develop climate solutions, and Mindful Learners who reflect on their environmental impact.
