Salt Lake Center for Science Education
Utah
Grant amount:
$4,900
Four hundred students at the Salt Lake Center for Science Education will participate in three different science symposia. The first is the Down the Drain where 10th grade students each analyze their own element from the periodic table as it travels through our homes, our water reclamation plant, and out into Great Salt Lake. The 2nd is in a new class for 7th and 8th graders focused on historical relationships to the Dark Sky and current issues related to light pollution where students will collect and present data. The third is a culminating whole school symposium where all students present projects of their own design. YLACES funds will be used to support this symposium.
