Grant amount:

$1,900

Students will use equipment provided through this grant to determine physical and chemical parameters of the sea. All specified equipment is usable either on the site or in the lab after the sample collection following GLOBE protocols. All collected data will be submitted to the Globe Science Data Entry. These data will be shared with the Globe community in the school where they will be discussed and analyzed with interested NGO's and local and governmental institutions that are responsible for monitoring of environmental issues in the region. The results of the analyzed data will be shared through the social media and the school website.

About YLACES:

Youth Learning as Citizen Environmental Scientists assists and rewards the implementation of inquiry-based, experiential science education where students do science and contribute to the understanding of our environment through recognition and financial reward programs.

Grants range from equipment and supplies for taking environmental measurements to recognition and support for students presenting their research projects and working for pervasive inclusion of student research projects in science teaching.
