Hayden Catholic High School in Topeka, Kansas is seeking a grant to purchase a professional-grade weather station and environmental sensors to support hands-on student research and data collection.
This project will serve approximately 120 high school science students annually by providing access to real-time atmospheric data, including temperature, humidity, precipitation, and solar radiation.
Students will use this equipment to conduct investigations aligned with NASA GLOBE protocols, contributing data to a global scientific database while developing skills in environmental monitoring and analysis. The requested equipment will allow students to engage in authentic scientific practices by collecting, analyzing, and using environmental data for research with application to real-world problems.
This technology will be integrated into the Earth Space curriculum to enhance inquiry-based learning and strengthen understanding of climate and weather systems.
