Colegio de la Mesopotamia
Argentina
Grant amount:
$1,281.60
Colegio de la Mesopotamia D219, located in Victoria, Entre Ríos, Argentina, is requesting a grant to strengthen its school-based environmental research program developed within the GLOBE Program framework.
Since 2021, the school has implemented scientific environmental monitoring protocols. Through its Research Workshop and Natural Sciences curriculum, secondary students conduct systematic observations of atmospheric variables, biodiversity (trees, birds and mosquitoes), and water quality in local ecosystems such as El Ceibo Stream.
The requested funding will support the acquisition of scientific instruments and water-quality reagents, enabling students to progress from environmental observation to independent research projects that may be presented at the GLOBE Virtual Student Symposium (IVSS) and science fairs.
The initiative directly engages approximately 200 secondary students and promotes scientific and technological literacy, critical thinking, and community engagement.
As an educational outcome, concrete environmental conservation actions with an impact on the local community will be promoted.
