Lyn Wigbels
Fellow of the American Astronautical Society
After a distinguished career as a senior executive at NASA, spanning both policy and program leadership, Lyn D. Wigbels is now an aerospace consultant. Throughout the history of the GLOBE Program, she served in a variety of management and operational roles, including Deputy Director and Director of International Programs.
Lyn has held numerous leadership positions within the global space community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the American Astronautical Society (AAS) and previously served as its President. She is also a member of the Board of Directors and Awards Chair of the Future Space Leaders Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the next generation of space and satellite industry professionals.
Her international leadership includes serving as Vice President for Youth and Workforce Development at the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), where she also chaired the Space Education and Outreach Committee. She has also served on the Board of Trustees and as a Governing Member of the International Space University (ISU).
Lyn earned a Bachelor of Arts from Dickinson College and a Master of Arts from The George Washington University. She is a Full Member of the International Academy of Astronautics, a Fellow of the American Astronautical Society, and an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
